Student Support

Initial Login & Dashboard

  • Navigate to the VirtuOwl website. On the top right corner, click on the "Schools Login" button.

  • Enter Login Credentials

    • Enter your username (your registered email address) and the temporary password provided to you via email by VirtuOwl Support.

  • Change Temporary Password

    • Upon initial login, you will be prompted to change your temporary password. Input the temporary password in the "Current Password" field. Create a new password and confirm it. Click "Change Password".

  • Logout and Re-login

    • It’s recommended to logout and re-login using the new password to ensure it has been updated successfully.

The main dashboard remains your primary access point after login. It provides a snapshot of your upcoming sessions, recently completed sessions, and any sessions with pending notes.


Sessions

  • Start at your primary dashboard upon logging in.

  • Create Session

  • Create an Appointment

    • Click the "Create" button on your dashboard.

    • Click "Create an Appointment".

    • Select a subject, subcategory, and choose an educator. Set a date and time for your appointment.

    • Include any necessary notes or upload an image and PDF to show what you need help on to the Educator.

    • Click "Create".

  • On Demand Tutoring

    • Click the "Create" button on your dashboard.

    • Click the "On Demand Tutoring" button.

    • Select a subject, subcategory, and an Educator.

    • Include any necessary notes or upload an image and PDF to show what you need help on to the Educator.

    • Click "Create".

      • As soon as you click "Create" the Educator will receive a notification that they have been booked for an On Demand session.

    • Go to your Dashboard and underneath "Ongoing Appointments" you will see information about the session.

    • Click "Join" and the Educator will let you in the Virtual Classroom.

Prepare for Upcoming Session(s) & Review Past Session(s)

  • Upcoming Sessions

    • You can view your upcoming sessions from the Dashboard.

  • Recent Sessions

    • Review Notes & Chat from the Session

  • Your recently completed sessions can be viewed from the Dashboard.

  • Click on a completed session to review session notes and chat logs.

How to Join a Session

  • Dashboard

    • Access: Start at your primary dashboard upon logging in.

  • Upcoming Sessions

    • Locate your upcoming sessions on your dashboard.

  • Session Summary

    • Click on the session from the list to see the details.

  • Join the Session

  • From your Dashboard

    • When it is time for your session click on the "Join" button within the "Ongoing Appointments" section of your dashboard.

    • Once you join, the Educator will receive a notification and will allow call you into the Virtual Classroom.

  • Session Experience

  • Features: Within the session, you can use chat, whiteboard, and screen share functionalities.

  • Within the session, you have access to:

    • chat

    • view Educator whiteboard

    • view Educator screen share

Post Session Experience

  • Start at your primary dashboard upon logging in.

  • You can view your recent sessions based on their status (completed, missed, note pending) from the dashboard.

  • Click on a "Completed" session to view session details, notes, and chat logs. These notes can be useful for review and revision.

  • If a session is still in "Note Pending" that means that the Educator has not completed their notes from the session. As soon as they complete the notes, it will appear as "Complete" and you will be able to review all chat logs and session notes.
